Mobile Music & Media Service
The mobile music & media project aims to enable young people aged 13 to 19 who are unable to access youth provision because of where they live or chose not to access other youth services to express themselves and engage locally in a creative and positive way.
The Mobile Music & Media Project
benefits are to:
Provide young people with access to state-of-the-art music and media equipment.
Providing an opportunity for young people to express themselves through creative media.
Have access to qualified teaching staff and opportunities to learn how to use specialist media technology.
Have access to expand personal development and improve functional skills.
Engage young people in local issues that affect them using vox pops and video diaries.
Signposting young people to SoundBox Studios based at the Crew Club for further access to music, media provision and accreditation.
Signpost young people to education and training opportunities i.e. e2e courses, City College B&H, Access to Music.
Mobile Youth Bus (MYBus)
The mobile youth bus project aims to reach out to young people aged 13 to 19 who are unable to access youth provision because of where they live or chose not to access other youth services.
The Mobile Youth Bus (MYBus) service
benefits are to:
Enabling young people to access youth provision, information, social education and advice.
Offering choices and pathways for development to isolated young people.
Developing young people’s social skills i.e. communication, personal values, self-esteem.
Meeting the unmet needs of young people identified in needs assessments.
Helping prevent isolation
Engaging young people’s interest, participation and commitment in their local communities thus encouraging them to take responsibility of their own lives and to take on a peer educators role within other young people’s lives.
Where appropriate signposting young people to other youth provision or services that meet their needs eg housing, careers, education, health.
Enabling effective detached and outreach work and promote the safety of young people and those who work with them.
